The industry has provided the market with a constant flow of new products, from satellite TV to DVD, Blu-Ray to HDTV and, recently, 3D TV. Additionally, the ability to download online content is going to make that all even bigger.
When we started selling video projectors 15 years ago, they were very expensive. Today, you can get a $10,000 projector that has better price and performance than one that costs $40,000. Plus, now there are lower-priced projectors that are available to a much wider audience. Most recently 4K projectors have been introduced with even better resolution for a best viewing experience
One of the biggest untapped markets is energy management. We’ve had the technology available for decades to provide energy savings to consumers. It really needs to be implemented on a national level to provide consumers with savings and help with the general energy policy.
Apps for the smartphone has had one of the biggest impacts on us in recent years, both as a product that we can sell to our customers, as well as a tool for business. Our technicians now have the ability to receive work tickets in the field or send pictures of job sites back to the office to enhance our conversations with them. Conversely, customers are now enabled to monitor their home security systems, energy consumption and lighting control with their phones.
